No it wouldn't because it would mean Ted Cruz is the president.

What is proposed here is just as ideologically dangerous as what Obama wanted to do to the country.

If not more. Hell of a conservative wet dream though.
Mark Levin as AG. Sarah Palin as energy secretary.

I am pretty libertarian, but I have restraint in practicality, and what will actually work in a society filled with liberals and economic idiots. Abolishing the Federal Reserve is irresponsible. It's terrible what it has done to our financial system, but it has very important uses. You can drill without Sarah Palin's incompetent arse in charge. Right to work is fine, and should be implemented, but is that really that big of an issue in this country? Maybe I'm spoiled in Texas, but I just don't see that much abuse in that arena. Eliminating the EPA and OSHA is also grossly irresponsible. I am a frac engineer in the oil field, I am directly affected by this I deal with EPA and OSHA regulations on a DAILY basis, but the government entities provide a level playing field for necessary regulations. John Bolton is fine. Leaving the United Nations is also really fricking stupid. Eliminating welfare is also stupid. It needs massive reform but social safety nets are important. Mark Levin is a radio host not a politician, and "for the Christians" is the most pretentious thing ever. Education, and public education, is an incredible tool for this country. We won't get anywhere if we have a society of weird home schooled kids that deny evolution and don't know how to practice safe sex.

Mark Levin hasn't been in government for a while. But to dismiss him as a radio host is silly.

Partly agree with a few things you've said but I think you need to read the article again. You've misinterpreted or over-interpreted portions of it.
quote:Yes...see Detroit and several other big union run areas of the country. The unions are so in the tank with the democrats, they end up suppressing their members' political opinions to a certain degree and spend money on candidates/political causes a good chunk of their members wouldn't support.
but is that really that big of an issue in this country?
quote:Don't entirely disagree but perhaps start over? Big Govt overreach through these programs is reaching epic proportions and the EPA is out of control and being used as a blunt instrument in a lot of cases enabling "imminent domain" abuses and unfairly hitting families and "the little guy"
Eliminating the EPA and OSHA is also grossly irresponsible
quote:It doesn't say "eliminate welfare" it says "end the welfare culture" so your "massive overhaul" line is on point but the author doesn't say eliminate welfare altogether. Massively overhaul it for what it should be for--a hand up, not a lifestyle and not incentivising young women to have babies in order to get more money out of the system.
Eliminating welfare is also stupid. It needs massive reform but social safety nets are important.
quote:Mark Levin worked for President Ronald Reagan as part of his DOJ cabinet and has argued before the SCOTUS. He is an accomplished attorney and actual constitutional scholar. He has written profusely about the subject and while you/we may not agree with his ideas 100%, at least he knows the document 1,000 times better than 98% of those currently running things in DC. I think Mike Church would be a good one to FWIW for the same reasons and the two of them are sort of feuding which is disappointing.
Mark Levin is a radio host not a politician, and "for the Christians" is the most pretentious thing ever
quote:Again...read the article. It says eliminate the DofEd, meaning at the federal level not the State level. Let States rights make a comeback and allow the states to fend for their own Ed systems (for that matter, repeal the 17th Amendment and allow the State Senate to select the US Senators the way it was originally intended/done). Public school would remain but it would be run by each state and the right to work states would probably have more flexibility and make it easier to be more efficient, thus save money, purge bad teachers and retain the great teachers. BTW, not all home-schoolers are weirdos who don't know about safe sex--what an asinine comment. My kids go to public school but I have known some stellar home schooled students who outperform their public school peers and are not "weirdos". Albeit, I've met some socially challenged home-schoolers too, they're out there but there are some in public school too. I've known home-schoolers who have been accepted to our service academies, gotten full ride scholarships, become accomplished in the arts, etc.
Education, and public education, is an incredible tool for this country. We won't get anywhere if we have a society of weird home schooled kids that deny evolution and don't know how to practice safe sex
