Mine's definitely more of a vote against than for. Anything I can do to keep hillary out of office is what I feel I have to.
I know plenty of folks feel exactly the opposite. One of those votes is whom I'm hoping to cancel out, I suppose.

In some amusing election news, the prosecutor who screwed the pooch by overcharging in the Baltimore/Freddie Gray caseposted a photo of herself breaking the law on Facebook earlier today. Apparently the prosecutor wasn't up on the law enough to know that voting selfies are illegal in Maryland.

It may or may not help her currently, but a Federal District Court recently ruled a similar law in a different state was unconstitutional.

Oh, I don't think it should be illegal as long as you don't show other people's ballots. If you want to share your vote, feel free.
I'm just amused that as a prosecutor she'd make such a blatant mistake.
Edited to add - it fits right in with the incompetence she displayed in the Freddy Gray fiasco.

None of our votes matter anyway. The president has already been chosen. You think they actually let the public choose? 
If they let us choose then Bernie Sanders would've democratic nomination in a landslide. Hillary was selected as the successor to Obama in 2008.

My thing is I really really don't want either one.
Hilldawg is the machine. She has zero shot of working with congress. She's uninspiring. Not a communicator. No vision for change. Won't be very effective.
Trump on the other hand has the temperament of a child, making wild promises so he'll get the applause. His ego just feasts on his rallies. I don't trust him to unite. I don't trust him to make good decisions. It's a sad joke he could win the supposed rational party.
So frick it. I voted for the most absurd candidate on the ballot to share my feelings. This election cycle has disgusted me, and I love political theater.

You do understand that Democratic party rules are not equal to the general election, right?
The primary system as you know it has only been around for a few decades. For most of our nation's history, the nominee for each party was chosen at the convention. The few primaries that were held where not binding and were simply used to gauge the viability of potential candidates. It wasn't until the very late 1970s and 1980s that delegates were truly bound by primary results.
There is more democracy now than ever and to be honest, I'm not sure that's a good thing. Since primaries tend to attract the party faithful, each party ends up nominating a candidate that is more aligned with the hard core base than the middle of the road voter.

And serious question for the city slickers: Do you poor slobs need more voting precincts, or what? I keep seeing reports of people waiting several hours to vote, which seems really odd to me. I've been a resident here for 34 years and have never waited. And I don't mean I haven't waited 5 or 10 minutes, I mean I've never waited. In/Out, whole thing has consistently taken 5 minutes or less.

It varies from city to city, and even from precinct to precinct. I live in a densely populated area in Birmingham. I got to the polls at 7 when it opened, and was out of there at 7:45. Line usually isn't as long in the middle of the day, but before work and after work there's always a line of varying lengths. I've been voting there for 15 years. This morning was the longest line I've experienced, but also the first time I've gotten there right when it opened. 2012 I went at lunch and waited about 10 minutes.
But yeah, more people living in a smaller area means longer lines to vote. It's no biggie.

I know the history of the Democratic Party. I took a southern politics my senior year at Bama so I know of their policies. And while you can't erase history you can't say that this path is exactly the same as the one from 150 years ago. Honestly, if the Democratic Party was as racist as it once was, do you really believe they'd let Obama get as far as he did?
However I do applaud people like Tbird and Tim Scott who decided to buck the trend and vote republican. It's nice to see Black people making the decision for themselves instead of following the crowd.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand the want to flock toward a party whose goal is to make you completely dependent upon them, when just 170 years ago, your descendants risked their lives to escape the same exact party for independence
Well that's ironic, because the first thing I hear when black people talk about institutional and social remnants from slavery and segregation is how long ago they are in the past(even though my mom was in segregated schools till her sophomore year!); and that blacks should have leveraged those proverbial bootstraps by now.
