If Iran wants the bomb, they're going to get it eventually. It's not like a land war in Iran is a realistic proposition. More sanctions? Every set has diminishing returns.
Iran is a rational actor, if also a hostile one to the US interest and Israel. I'd rather have them at the table and talking than not at all. Stall. The problem for me isn't Iran having a nuke, but a number of other middle eastern governments deciding that if Iran has one so will they.
Iran or their associated groups aren't going to use it because the only end game for Persia is nuclear holocaust if they do. If other countries have it too, more opportunities for a bomb to get into less rational actors hands. MAD has worked for 70ish years, I hope it continues to.

Iran owns Hezbollah, Hamas, was responsible for the bombing of the US embassy in Lebanon and has been a key player in just about every major terrorist attack in the last 30 years. Oh I'm sorry. Please excuse my ignorance. I'm sure Iran would give their nuclear device or tech, that everyone in the world knows they have, to a terrorist orgainization they are known to back. They definitely wouldnt be destroyed completely minutes after their terrorist nuke went off.

Nobody is firing a nuke at anything that close to Russia. There's your deterrent. Iran is the country that WILL set off a nuke under the disguise of a terrorist organization and use it to play ignorance in public opinion.
