I mean, how hard was it to tell that Draftkings and Fanduel were a scam?

I've made 10 grand with my group of friends since football season started on FanDuel, by all means, feel bad for us saps.

6 grand came on a single $5 bet. Rough. (thank you Mayfield and Fournette that week)

Even rougher is depositing with PayPal, and then cashing out with PayPal and having it in your account within 24 hours. If their biggest "scam" is a couple of mid level employees trading stat sheets, they'll continue to be the dominant force they are in legal sports betting (except in LA, poor saps).

I was expecting this to be more of how it's a Ponzi scheme, like in Runner, Runner.

It seemed when these started, it'd be relatively easy for a computer nerd to come up with a bot of some kind to make enough entries each week to guarantee him winning money.

I made a couple of entries the first couple of weeks and "won" $30-something dollars. Seems as though the best use of those sites is for private leagues amongst friends.

That's exactly what is happening. 99% of the winnings are won by 1% of the players.

Yeah, it can be tough early, you really need to build your account if you start low like with any gambling site.

As for lineups just stick with 2 or 3 safe picks like Rodgers at QB, Jones at WR, Charles at RB.

It's all about hitting that $5000-6000 RB/WR, pick your budget players right with your safe picks and you're guaranteed money every week.
