Psh, more like:
"Get your arse up, Tbird."
"But Mom, it's 4:45 AM."
"I know, quit sleeping in on a school day."

5 & 7. I can't be around anyone in the Type 1 category. Some in type 8, too. Controlling people bring out the beast in me but I like for people to be direct, even businesslike in conversations. Chit-chat is like finger nails on a chalk board for me.

Reading through some posts here, it occurs to me how generally satisfied I am with life. That's odd--someone who truly does not get the hang of life, so to speak, who has never felt much at home in this existence–and yet, would not change or alter his circumstances, being happy enough with his lot.
I find this amusing. And it's moments like this that provide the "psychic compensation" I referred to in an earlier post.

At my core, i'm a quiet loner. I truly like to be by myself and am happiest when i have nobody around me. Including my wife and kids. i'm moody, i like dark dreary days, and generally think the worst of people.
But... at the cost of losing my family almost once, i realized that it was super selfish and sad way to go through life and have decided to adjust.
That mostly sounds like me.
I don't see the worst in people. I just think the majority of people put up false fronts. I don't think they're inherently bad. But to be loved a lot of people think they have to be what others want them to be. So they act in ways that get them what they want. At one point in time, I did that as well. But ultimately I found it exhausting and not worth the effort.
I recently had a conversation with my mother and she said she could predict that I would be the introverted type since birth. I was always happiest by myself. So fortunately for me my family understands the way I am. They know that I just have to do my own thing. At times they just worry at times that I'm going to blow my brains out or something from seclusion but really, I couldn't be happier when I'm alone in my own thoughts. I want company with others, but only in small doses.
The thing is, as someone else said, we live in a world where extraversion is rewarded/glamourized and introversion is shunned and ridiculed. I had to realize that there's nothing wrong with me, or at least not that part of me.

Psychologists call it a sense of well being. You seem to be a well-adjusted person.

Yeah. I once thought about starting an introvert's support group. But who the frick would show up.

In the sense that I like myself well enough? Sure. I'm an okay guy. What I meant by "adjusted" is how well, or comfortably, or easily, or successfully, you integrate with the world around you. I can see now that I should've clarified that.

i hear you on all fronts. and like i said, i have adjusted it well enough to where it's not a noticeable thing. Every now and then i let my guard down and my wife can kind of give me that look meaning "you're cocooning again." and i can snap out of it. it's not wrong to be that way, but my kids deserve better than that.

I'm a cross between 6 and 2 and am quite content with that.

I'm adaptable, a chameleon. I can fit in most situations.

I own this motherfricker. Get out of my way, sit down, and STFU.
I'm doing great.
