Mids are rough, man. I did it for two and a half straight years with a security company out of Georgia and I think I'm still recovering from it two and a half years later.

When I'm on vacation I sleep til 9:00 or later and try to take an afternoon nap.

I don't get much sleep at all. I have a newborn plus I am dealing with untreated sleep apnea at the moment.

Yikes.
Been a year and change for me already. Even when I took a couple of weeks of leave last May I couldn't sleep more than 4 hours straight so I know I'm screwed up

I cannot sleep past 7:30 on my best day. Even in a cruise ship with no porthole.

I don't want to get too deep into manlove or oversharing territory, but get off mids when you can, brother. It fricked me up really, really bad and I didn't know it until I tried to switch back.

Appreciate the support
Honestly if it weren't for the fact that my wife's schedule rotates every few months, I would have tried to switch already.
Kind of stuck on Mids for the forseeable future right now for that and a variety of other bullshite reasons.
Not all bad, though. I like not having to deal with the brass as much on mids, plus the fact that I've always been a bit of a night owl probably helps me some.

Not gonna even lie man, I brought my PS3 a few nights. Kind of bizarre, but I've always felt my internal clock was around midnight or 1 AM, that's when I like to go to bed rather than 9 - 11 like regular folk.
It was nice, though, because I maybe got checked out by my superiors once every six months like clockwork. After that, they just let me do my thing, so I can definitely see the benefits to doing it.
Make sure you exercise, everyone gets fat on mids.

I usually get between 6 and 8, but on the weekends I get 10 to 14. I could probably sleep for 24 hours straight if i wanted to.

I worked third for about two years and then did some swing shifts on OT after that. I was all kinds of fricked for awhile.

Depends on my situation. Right now I get 4-5 and don't function well. During school it's more like 6-8. Much more better.

Last year or so pretty steady 6-8
Used to be 0-14 including 30 minutes or so. Whats important for me is not the amount of sleep, its the time I spend awake. 17-18 hours is what I need.
For instance, if I sleep later than normal but go to bed at the normal time that night. Im dead the next day and have a really really hard time going to sleep and getting up. But if add 17 to when I woke up and find something to do till that point then go to bed Im good.
Its hard to explain, but I have no internal clock and used to be really out of phase at about a 28 hour cycle. Which involved me staying up all night on Sunday, bed early on Monday night. Bed late Tues, and the rest of the week. Fri night up all night sleep the day away on Sat and Sun.

I can pretty much fall asleep anytime, anywhere. I love sleeping. It's my favorite hobby. Before marriage/kids, I took a nap every day when I got home from work. Of course, I was burning the candle at both ends in my early 20s.
