A lot, but mostly because of the skewed view of Islam probably.

What's skewed about our view of Islam?

Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed."
A lot, but stability in the region is a key issue as well.

I think there's a lot a guilt about the Holocaust as well. The US Admin knew about the Jews being rounded up and deported to camps in Poland before the exterminating began. We actually turned away ships full of Jews trying to escape Europe. When the US knew Jews were being round up and killed at the camps, they did nothing about it.

Quite a lot. My father is a far right GOP person and strict conservative Baptist. He is always blaming Obama for not protecting Israel, our great religious Ally. He thinks younger American's view toward Israel is changing and could affect their future ability to survive in the region.
I asked him if he thought the Jews were going to hell and he said 100% yes they were because in order to get into heaven as the Bible clearly states, you have to believe Jesus is God's son. I asked him what would happen if the Israel state broke a part. He said the majority of them would probably scatter across the Christian continents of Europe, North and South America. I asked him if the Jews had a much greater chance of being converted to Christianity living in these parts instead of all together in Israel. The answer is of course yes many more would convert. I asked him so since the ultimate goal is to get to heaven to be with God shouldn't you be pro the destruction of Israel. The logic has been plainly laid out so he couldn't argue so much, his mind was so blown he had no retort. Its not surprising he had never thought of this before, because Christians are taught to have faith, trust, and mindlessly follow. Like lambs of the ancient political Catholic power hungry church. It is very funny though when you think about it and realize that they see themselves as Allies but think their Ally is going to burn in hell forever.

So we give them a country and drop it in the middle of an area where they will be an ethnic and religious minority. Who would have thought that action would cause some instability.

We did this? Or was that Churchill?

lulz. Evangelical dispensationalists believe that Jesus will come back when Israel is a political state. Its a misinterpretation of Revelation.
The Talmud is not friendly to Christ or Christians.

Some, definitely.
Maybe some of it has to do with Israel being the only western style democracy with respect for the human rights of its citizens in the middle east?
Nah.
