It was more of a finance question than a "oh hey I can drink more beer than you" post

WTF? 3-4 times a month and only $100 spent?

Drinks are like $3 in downtown Orlando

I have never considered making my own, I drink and enjoy a lot of different beers so I prob should invest.

Been doing it for the better part of a decade now. I enjoy it but had a background in science so enjoy the process. Harder to find time to do it with the little one now so have to do big brew days less frequently.

How long does it take to make? If I run out can I make it drunk?

The actual brew process is generally pretty short anywhere from 1.5-3 hours or so to make your "wort" which is just beer before the yeast do their handiwork. The issue is that it takes anywhere from 7-21 days or so for fermentation to really happen (maybe some session beers in 5 but I've got one that's been going for 3 weeks and still has more time to go right now... fricking saison yeast.) and then bottling or kegging takes time as well. A good rule of thumb is you're not likely to have beer you brewed ready for consumption in less than 2 weeks. So short answer, not long to "make" from an active perspective but lots of "waiting".

I spent like $70 this month but that is because Oktoberfests are my favorite.

Probably a typical car payment.

This month has been an outlier too due to trip to Dallas for concert with insane friends and a wedding reception for one of these insane friends.

I have one of these, so $170-190, depending on the 1/6 barrels.

But I can squeeze a month or two outta one of these, so 2 Bills per month, all told.

Where'd you get that custom tap? I've been looking to install some in my basement but haven't found a company that really makes me want to pull the trigger.

I just added another tap to a single tap tower. Drill, hole saw, piece of cake. Found all the parts, hoses, valves at the local hardware store, sans the actual tap. Those I got online somewhere.

The parts and things I can get locally. I'm talking about the handles and Bama logo. Is that a sticker? I'm thinking about putting one in the kitchen and telling my wife to deal with it. And then I'll roll in a new stove for her

beer/alcohol?

Started keeping track of exactly where all my money is going and I was a bit surprised how much was going towards my beer

I did this once back in the day. Seeing what I spent on going out made me immediately change my life. I don't have nearly as much fun, pull sluts anywhere near like I did nor have been arrested or crashed a vehicle in over a decade but when you see the hard numbers that you're spending a minimum wage full time job's salary on getting hangovers and risky behavior you'll question your life a little bit.

Oh, the .50 handles I got online, Amazon probably. I thought about making them myself, but I figured drilling out the primers on live rounds was not a great idea.

So all these 0's, do you not drink?

Probably 200/mo but includes drinks for the lady and I.
