I'm like Hemphead. I'll say some pretty romantic things but will never use the L word unless I hear it from her first.
I'm actually having this issue now. Have been dating someone for the last few months I like aND respect a lot but I'm simply not in love and I think she can sense it. She wants to hear it but I'm not about to say it if I don't truly mean it. Afraid to break it off completely because I do care for her and want to remain friends although I realize that sadly that's probably not a realistic option.

Literally said it three dates in when she cooked for me. Broke up with her a month later when she stopped cooking for me. I wasn't feeling the love no more.

Embarrassed to admit this but I wrote a letter, and it was pretty early. We both started using it at about 2 and a half months.
Although, sometimes you just meet a person and you know you'll be with them for a while. I knew it from day one.
As an addendum: We've known each other for three months, we've been dating for three months. Is what it is.

Knew it the minute I saw her. 18 years and a a bad marriage later, I finally found her again and told her. Blessed, but damn we both could've saved ourselves some heartache (and lawyer fees) if I'd been more "beta" and went with my heart all those years ago. Thank the good lord for second chances.

I've fallen in love a thousand times, so usually about 15 minutes before first sex. That can be anywhere between 30 minutes and a couple of days after first meeting.

Can't remember exactly. It was definitely more than 3 months in. I "said" it first, and it was through a handwritten note. Think she actually said the words first, though.

With my ex I think we were around the 4 month mark when we said it. I've been dating this new girl for a little over a month so will advise.
