5 over on the highway. In the city I follow posted speeds.

Everyday driving usually not more than 10 over. Have hit 155 on a back road on a motorcycle.

Speed limit is 55 on my drive to work and I set my cruise at ~75-80 everyday. No cops on 55 South in St Louis and very few on the interstates in St Louis in general. Non-interstate road and other cities I do not go more that 5 over.

90 on the interstate is the max I'll go, and that's assuming no cops and that every one around me is speeding.

In Portland, 15-20 because I've only ever seen ~5 people pulled over in 5 years of living here. Also, even interstates top out at 55 here so everybody goes 65+ anyway. In Texas, 5 mph in town and on interstates, 10+ on farm roads.

That is pretty much my rule of thumb.

LOL of course my cars are pretty old and do not go very fast anyway.

5 over on a 2 lane - just under 10 on a 4 lane highway/interstate. I feel like those are benchmarks to not be fricked with which is my goal

Well I am hoping Einstein is wrong and I can speed well past the speed of light.

Nothing against the man, but if the laws of physics aren't meant to be broken it makes Jack a dull boy.

Depends on the car and if you buy your car in America then a lot of cars get a limiter on them cutting off the fuel at 140-155mph. That's why I only buy my cars from a foreign country.

My car is Japanese and cuts off at 118 mph. :(

On the highway with no traffic, I am comfortable cruising between 70-80. Not quite so fast at night and not in foul weather.

In the city, I'll go as fast as the fastest surrounding traffic.
