I have been there a handful of times...it was an incredible building. Religion/Denomination aside...it is a shame to see such an awesome display of craftsmanship go up in flames.

I was sorry to hear about the fire, and hope that they are able to rebuild.

I have pulled some other images of this awesome structure.

Very sorry to hear about that. As a Roman Catholic, I have a great respect for the Orthodox church. Terrible that it happened on Easter. I hope that they get it rebuilt and replaced. Please keep us updated.

Don't take it personal, but some may have had bad dealings with other churches and be a little disgruntled towards organized religion in general. Never know what someone has had to deal with. That said, sorry to heat about this. Have an upvote!

FWIW, i think this info needs to get to the right people in the community and the donations will take off.

Thanks. And I don't take it personally. I wouldn't even call myself a church goer (invite me to the unitarian church, the synagogue or the greek orthodox church even the catholic church and I'm often game as they're not hellfire types nor do they proselytize). I just have good friends and good memories from the times I've been to this Church. The Greek Orthodox are very cool in my book.

And kids I grew up with all the way from K-12 went to this church.

A couple things:

-So sorry to hear and see this. Best wishes for all involved.

-Downvotes dont mean shite.

-maybe put on OT lounge (not sec ot). Those clowns really are good people as well and come together when something matters more then what a girls arse looks like after she gained 10 pounds

-be prepared for a whack. religion threads dont usually fly on td.com because of the controversy it brings. Not everyone thinks saban is god and bama football is the second coming.

Thanks for the advice. Tried the O-T and it's not going so well.

Very beautiful artwork and architecture. Sucks that such a beautiful building was lost.

What a beautiful church. And a true tragedy. I truly hope they'll get the support to rebuild. Regardless of your beliefs, everyone should go to an orthodox service sometime. They are truly beautiful.

As an Atheist, I would never downvote it. I absolutely love the architecture, stained glass, etc. of these places, even if I don't believe in what is taught there.
