well he started it with lying to her, so he had two options. Admit he met her under a lie, then she either never talks to him again or she never truly trust him. On the other hand you could do what he did

I don't know, if he had spun it correctly and "fessed up" that he had fibbed a little in the beginning, but that he was really fond of her, so he wanted to come clean since he didn't want their potential relationship based on a lie, she probably would've seen that as favorable. I know I would've found it a bit endearing & charming, and very refreshing. I give lots of points for admitting mistakes.

He could have done that and she might have reacted that way. However once you have spun the lie its hard to go back on it

Da hell is going on around here? Now we are impersonating people?

I thought these type of stories were unmentionable and causation for bans?

that would be a pretty weak reason to ban someone.

Oh, I agree that to have any chance of salvaging any shot he might've had with the girl, he would've had to have told her the truth about giving a phony name pretty early on - definitely before he went all undercover CIA & shite.

Well the blow up afterwords in a similar situation caused some to get banned on here. I mean it was internet drama for a good 20 minutes (which in real time is 3 weeks)

Well, I don't think reading this tale will help anyone understand anything better about girls/boys & nuts, except, perhaps, that the OP is nuts.

Probably not. Although it's a textbook example of what not to do in forming a potential relationship. I'd bet the farm this "story" didn't turn out nearly as well as the OP states here. Guess I'm pessimistic, but I don't see that type of thing ending so well the vast majority of the time.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that this girl was a dingy blonde? I don't see a normal girl falling for these weird pretenses for that length of time, they have a sense about shite like this and get extremely curious.

In conclusion, there seems to be fabrication here in more ways than one or you have been patrolling the special needs schools looking for dates. Which is sick either way you look at it.

There is no Sam Bell reason for this, at least that I can find?

Or young. When I was younger, I took people more at face value and trusted them until they gave me a reason not to. I'd like to think I'd have figured it out after a while, but younger girls are more trusting and naive. As we get older, and date a few Mr. Wrongs, we learn to be a little more cynical and less trusting. I don't expect people to lie to me, but my radar is much more finely tuned than when I was younger.
