Zappa's solo on "Watermelon in Easter Hay" from the Joe's Garage album makes me want to believe in God
I still don't though haha

Toy Caldwell off the albumn Where We All Belong, the complete song Everyday I Have the Blues, if y'all like water melon boogie woogie this song has it all. Spent many hours with a cranked amp and Gibson git fiddle trying to cop his feel but you'll find out it's all in the thumb!

I'm partial to the solo in Time by PF.
SRV, Hendrix, Duane Allman and Jimmy Page are always at the tops of the lists for a reason as they did things that make your draw drop. EVH is probably up there too but I prefer the other three.
More recently, Gary Clarke Jr. can do some amazing things on the the guitar.
Tash Neal is a really young guy out of NY that I think is really good, plays for a band called The London Souls.

If you've ever seen Pearl Jam play live, when they hit the solo at the end of "Alive", it's incredible.

That's the one. I dare someone(s) to play it note for note. Dickie Betts is a really, really good guitar player.
