he just brute forced his way in to a cage, thrashed around like a great white stuck in a cage-- before escaping...yeah, pretty sure he fricked himself up a bit

I'd really like to know what he did after the shark came into the cage with him. Did he go to the bottom of the cage and cling to the bars? He sure took a long time coming up. The guys on the boat thought the cage was empty.

I've always thought that shark cages didnt have enough bars. Why dont they have tighter bar spacing for just this reason?

I think it's because sharks don't usually go full force at the cage. You want to get the experience of being in the water with them but you also don't want them busting through like they did. It's a balancing act of being too closed off to them and keeping you safe.
