Georgia lawmaker Doug Teper (Democrat) has proposed a bill to replace the state’s electric chair with the guillotine. Teper’s reasoning? It would allow for death-row inmates as organ donors, he says, since the “Blade makes a clean cut and leaves vital organs intact.”

I actually think thats a pretty good way to go out. You'd be dead before you knew what happened.

Is it wrong that I'm okay with this?

Nope. People need organs.

I would also cut down in the power bill that the jail gets monthly.

I support.

So... does anyone kill people like the great state of Texas? Last time I checked we were the only place in the triple digits.

Personally I see this as a way for him to do away with the death penalty.

Get this passed under the auspices of organ donation and then ban the death penalty because it's so barbaric and horrific.

If we're going to execute somebody we should do it in whatever way is the most affordable.

I'm for it. Why the heck not. It would be over a heck of a lot quicker than injection or electrocution.

Not true, actually. During its use over the centuries, often times the blade would not drop with enough velocity or be just dull enough that it did not make a clean cut but, instead, would sever the spinal column leaving the victim still conscious but paralyzed and they would have to drop it again to finish the kill.

Other than that, it's affordable and might as well give the death row inmates an option

Committing murder is barbaric. What happened to hanging? For some reason people thought te chair was more humane than hanging.

Our criminal justice system shouldn't be trusted with the power to administer the death penalty.
