This
His entire case essentially rested on whether on not the jury bought two things...
1: Trayvon attacked him unprovoked
2: Zimmerman was retreating to his car when said attack occurred
I've come to sincerely doubt #2 was true. I think he was a racist (verified by his own FB posts and tweets) trying to be a badass and get this black kid arrested. He kept following him and Trayveon attacked him fearing this strange man following him at night.
Technically, Zimmerman was still likely justified in shooting him. That doesn't mean he's innocent though.

Not true at all. Florida is a stand your ground state. You don't have to retreat one foot if you're attacked.

True but it doesn't mean he wasn't retreating.
The case actually came down to Zimmerman's story and the evidence......they matched but he's still a POS.

Didn't mean to imply that he wasn't. I wanted to address Roger's assertion that to find him innocent the jury had to believe he was retreating. All they had to believe was that he was in a place he had a legal right to be, was attacked, and was reasonably in fear for his life.
And yes, he is still very much a POS.

They actually just found him not guilty, which isn't really the same as innocent but we're getting into semantics. The jury interviews I've read indicate they felt the state didn't prove their case beyond reasonable doubt, which I agree with after watching the trial. At least one of them said they didn't believe all of Zimmerman's story, but not enough to convict him of murder, which is what he was tried for. The manslaughter charge wasn't added until closing arguments and instructions from the judge. It's possible they'd have gotten a manslaughter charge had they originally charged him with that. Who knows though.

Am I reading this correctly? The bidding is up to $53 million?

No, you're right. It is more than semantics and I should have used the proper term.

I have no idea why the State Attorney charged murder to begin with other than her bowing to political pressure.
And you're also right about the jurors. Based on their interviews, many of them clearly felt Zimmerman bore a lot more than a little responsibility for what happened and I completely agree. He was then, and is now, a tPOS.
The only part of you whole statement I disagree with is the impression I got from watching the trial was the state failing to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. I thought they failed to prove ANYTHING other than the fact that Zimmerman was a tPOS - and whomever decided to put the girlfriend on the stand should never try a case before a jury again. I work in a job that has resulted in attending lots of trials and she was one of the worst witnesses I've ever seen. There's no way they shouldn't have see that train wreck coming when they were doing their prep.

If true I think we can finally nix that whole karma notion. That can't be real.

The bidding was mostly trolls from what I read.
Zimmerman is a tPOS, no question. And an idiot. And a bigot.
I absolutely believe he provoked the confrontation, then got scared when he was in the process of getting his racist arse handed to him. He's a bully, and bullies are ultimately cowards. So, when he realized he wasn't going to win the fight, he shot his gun.
Not murder. Manslaughter would have been the correct charge. But he was absolutely responsible, morally, for that kid's death.
He's disgusting. And one day he is going to cross paths with someone who is a much bigger badass than he could ever hope to be. That will be the end of his road.
