Watching last episode of season 3 now to brush up on where it left off. Can't wait. This is the first time I'm going to see an episode after reading the book first, so I'm kinda excite.

I've been pretty happy with some of the deviations they've taken from the books too. I watched the first season then read the books afterward. It's good stuff as long as you don't get hung up on there's going to be differences because of the nature of the two mediums.

Book readers also need to prepare themselves for the show to pass the books.

Martin told the show's writers the end game in case they pass him or he dies. Soooo...yeah. It's gonna happen.

That fat, lazy frick needs to get to writing. He basically has 3 or 4 years to finish two damn books and it'll probably take him closer to a decade, if he ever finishes them.

..and Cat, if you hate GoT so damn much (is there anything you like, even a little?), stop posting in threads about it. It's getting pathetic.

That's not necessarily true if he publishes next year. But that's the absolute last chance for the show not to pass the books.

He is a tool. And letting HBO put the ending out before the final book would be a bit of a slap in the face to his readers.

If he's still alive he'd change the ending for the book because he's a dick like that

I would probably steal his insulin if we ever met and whisper Valar Morghulis as I do it

If he did die maybe they would bring someone else in to finish the books like for Wheel of Time.

Would probably be better as the last two have failed to live up to the earlier promise of the series.

I think(or rather hope) that the story starts converging some to coalesce into a definite direction towards resolution with some nice battle scenes and you the fricking dragons killing folks. I only had a problem with ADWD. I loved AFFC but I love the mystery of Oldtown and the Citadel.

They aren't bad books, an most large series in the genre have a couple slow books in the middle, it can certainly be turned around with the final two.

I am just sort of surprised at how much more recognition this series gets compared to others in the genre.

That is how HP was...few real slow but important books in the middle.

My favorite is THBP because I'm a sucker for backstory.

If you are captured by the world the author has created, then the slow important books are amazing because you usually get a much better insight into the world and how it works.

The world in GOT just didn't capture me like other series have.
