More like high society in South Carolina has their heads so far up their asses they don't know where their fancy house parties begin and their overpriced vehicles end.
I have only been around Alabama debutante circles, but if the "southern bells" in South Carolina are even close to that this picture accurately expresses their outlook on life.
Never have I been around such self absorbed people with such a fricked up value system. Things that don't matter at all (like what to wear to some made up ball) are life and death while real issues (wars, famine, plague, terrorism, etc.) aren't even on their mental maps.

Considering Mardi Gras in America started in Alabama before Louisiana I think that representation is less than accurate.

So I'm still trying to figure Mississippi out. I wonder what it is that the author thinks Mississippi is famous for.
