My mother is some distant relative to Yulia Tymoshenko too.

Best I have is Anne Boleyn on my Mother's side.

We might be related I'm a direct descendent of her as well. My papa was big into genealogy. He actually took the time and traced our family back all the way to Abraham (yes, the guy in the Old Testament)

Well, that's creepy.

Just a little. I was wondering if anyone else saw that post.

That's putting it mildly, IMO. The non-shining characters in my family are just ignorant white trash

My grandmother had her side traced back as well. It went back to Julius Caesar (I didn't put that, because I don't believe it).

I inherited all of my papa's genealogy stuff when he passed away. The amazing part (to me anyways) is that he did most of his research before ancestry.com and the Internet was available. He did the majority of it by hand. Also, I have the Confederate Money that my great great, whatever, grandfather came home with in his pocket after the Civil War.

I've got a boat load if you want some more. I am BEYOND thankful that they were adopted and I'm not blood related to them.

I can use my imagination

95% of Southerners have very similar roots, so there's no reason for anyone to pretend like they don't. That's how I feel at least.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure any have some that are this trashy. It kills me that they have my papa's last name. Like, it really really breaks my heart

The rednecks of my family have a different father than my grandfather does. My great grandmother married one man, had 8 kids (6 survived iirc) and then married my great-grandfather and had my grandpa. They have different last names obviously, and we made fun of them for years. Until..... we figured out that my great-grandmother's 1st husband was the Uncle of my great-grandmother's 2nd husband. So it turns out that we have the same redneck blood that we had made fun of for years

They weren't that bad. Just uneducated and backwoods. Nice people for the most part, but most of them have died off

That's really cool about the confederate money. I would love to do all sides of mine, especially my Dad's. His family had to go through Ellis Island, and the immigration officers spelled Schultz many different ways. I know one of his relatives was a Rough Rider.

Having it traced for my mother's side allowed for us to be Daughters of the American Revolution, which is cool.

I should probably do my biological father's, I am just not sure If I give enough shits to try and do it. He's where my Irish blood comes from. My last name should have been McAnally.

My mom's grandpa was one of 24. So I guess my great great grandpa was either a bad arse or a complete idiot. The 24 were stretched out over several consecutive wives.

Yes. Three of mine from the mid and late 1800's committed murder.

One cute his neighbor in half over a woman. He was 60 something and in great health, but his lawyer had him appear to court on a stretcher like he was deathly ill. The jury showed mercy, and instead of jail time they said he couldn't cross so and so town line for 5 years.( I forgot exactly where in southern LA. but the former town is now under water for the most part. )

The jury's general consensus was he would die within one year. Boy were they wrong.

Well after hearing his verdict he gets up off the stretcher and walks right out of the courthouse. He serves his sentence of living North for 5 years and returns much to the dismay of the town.
