As a local, I have grown to not like Bourbon that much. But it's great for the tourists, so it is what it is. SO many better places in the city to see, but people believe the whole "if you step off Bourbon, you'll get shot" bullshite.

Yep. Easily the highest chance to be a victim while out drinking in NOLA is on Bourbon. Warehouse District and Uptown tends to have less "trash".
