absolutely, people get amped up and mean when drunk and on edge. A lil' weed takes you off edge and you chill.
My designated smoke time is Memorial Day weekend, if I ever do it, it's then when my hometown takes a huge float trip. It's basically if you're anyone that's anyone you go on the floater, there's always some hippies, rednecks, or fratty folks that bring a sack. Now that I'm older and know a little bit more about the stuff and how to discern quality from bunk, I'll be bringing my own. My cultivator friends grow some crazy strains that are potent as hell.
Last time I smoked back in October, I saw a bobcat cross the road not far from my house. I've been sitting on a 1/2zip of that stuff waiting for a good moment.

I used to be a smoker, I really loved that loud weed but I'm not proud of it.

I smoked pretty regular in High School and College.I quit when I entered the workforce.Now that I'm pretty much retired I've thought about smoking some occasionally.
