Wicca is a real religion but there's a LOT of wannabes too. There is nothing evil hardly about it contrary to what people think. Druidism is simular as well.

i live in elmore county and theres a place my dad use to work at I think it was dadeville or Tallassee (I cant remember the exact location its been awhile since he left there) anyway a few folks that worked with him there were from places like newsight & kellyton and they told us that almost the entire residency of both towns (Newsight & Kellyton) practice nothing but witchcraft

never been to either town. but if i ever pass through there and see a bunch of folks hanging by the noose i guess i'll know right away its a good idea to turn my car around

other than that only thing i've ever even heard of was the witching hour which i always thought the hour for trick or treaters at halloween. until.... I watched the exorcism of emily rose (ever since I sleep with a light on ....truth)

My dad is from Eclectic, and he used to tell us of this place that is at the top of a hill right off 231 I believe. He said that everyone believed that there were witches up there.

He said that him and his friends went up there one night, and there was a lone, vagrant looking man sitting by a fire, and they went to sit down and drink beer and talk to him. After shooting the shite with him, they asked him what his name was, and he looked up and said "Damien." It was right when The Omen movies came out, and my dad said him and his friends freaked out and booked it back down the hill.

I always got a kick out of the story, and he can tell it a whole lot better than I can.

I live in wetumpka (well actually grier road right on the outskirts of wetumpka) I believe the place he was talking about was called Bald Knob Road? (it use to be a place most of the teens would go for late night romance) not sure if I have the name right . but i've heard a bunch of folks claim there was a witch that lived in one of the houses once.

Holy crap dude, I googled "Elmore county" and "witchcraft" and found this story from 2006: LINK

Original newspaper story (same content): LINK

ETA: the man was not indicted, even though the sherif's investigators believed the accusers.

King Solomon used magic and had 1 ring to rule them all according to the bible...

Maybe not a ring to rule them all but it was a magical ring.

Most of the Magic stories come from extra-biblical commentaries and folklore.

Nowhere in the Bible does it mention Solomon and magic and his ring

Now Jewish folklore does.

But it's not in the Christian Bible.

I don't think there are witches in the sense of horror movies.

My buddies ex-wife is head of a Wicca Coven. They drop acid and dance naked on Halloween and the Summer and winter solstices.

I told him I was interested until I found out her fat Italian husband was dancing naked with them.

eta:I used to live in Eclectic. From Gadsden originally but lived in Eclectic for several years.Loved it.

Yeah I am pretty sure that is the same road.

I remember when that occult sexual assault thing happened. Pretty wild stuff.
