Post above yours. I've got auburn hair and I have a soul..but it frequently mingles with a darker, much more enjoyable side.

The truth: No one really knows for sure but there is no scientific evidence that suggests a spiritual existence after death. Objectively it would seem that the only life after death is through documentation and memories of those who remember you after you die. This might be one incentive behind both famous and infamous characters throughout history; they want recognition, they want to be remembered, they want to live forever. This was definitely the case for the famous pharaohs of Egypt.

The Holy Spirit isn't a natural part of us. He is on this earth and will dwell in us IF we ask him and then continue to allow him to, this is conditional on living in tune with Gods will.

I can't even change my own oil. How Am I expected to figure out the existence of a now verbally silent God, let alone what His will is, in however many days I'll be alive on this earth? That sounds not practical or fair to ask of a person with the understanding that there will be no confirmation no matter what I come up with, and I'll go to hell forever if I'm wrong. There's people that don't know how to mail a letter at the post office, but they're expected to handle this or else?

Also, on the subject of God saving your soul, it strikes me as ridiculous that the stock answer about those who live in tribes who've never heard the gospel is "God will reveal Himself to them in some way", when then Christians draw lines in the sand with which denomination is going to heaven and which aren't. Can God not reveal himself to a person in a different denomination than yours, or just Indians in far away tribes?

I'll hang up and listen.

Old sarge, you have a history of thinking my direct points in a conversation are a troll just because you disagree with it. You were wrong in the past and you're wrong now. If you can't discuss something without claiming everything's a troll than move along already. Don't know what else to tell you, pal. I actually was hoping you'd be the one to address the post you quoted. Guess everyone who disagrees with you are all just trolling you, right?

I have several souls actually. One I was born with. It is my favorite. The other 7 I acquired from poor people in exchange for me paying for life saving treatments.

bullshite

Edit your 2 paragraphs to legit questions and take the obvious troll questions and rhetoric out. Then maybe myself or someone else will discuss this with you. But you're a liar as well as a troll if you don't acknowledge the shite in that post

Now we're cooking with gas. Electric in nature. Energy. When the body dies, does this "electrical" energy just cease to exist? I say absolutely not. One of the surest axioms of science is that energy never dies.

I think this part is really interesting to think about.

You can try what this doctor did to prove souls are real.
LINK

quote:

Many people like to believe in the idea of a soul, and we often look to the empirical world to bolster our religious or spiritual beliefs, searching for corroborating physical evidence. Just such scientific proof seemed to come in 1907,when a Massachusetts doctor named Duncan MacDougall devised experiments that he expected would actually measure the soul. Using six terminally ill patients on a specially-constructed scale bed, he measured their weight before, during, and after death. His results were mixed, but he concluded that there was indeed a very slight loss of weight, 21 grams on average.
