I think that what got the officer was the 16 rounds. The kid was obviously an a-hole that wouldn't drop his knife. Had it been 2-3 rounds, it probably would've been a clean shoot.
I disagree. The number of rounds fired is not very relevant. If. The use of deadly force is justified, it is justified. Shoot him once or 16 times. It doesn't matter.
I'm one of the biggest LE supporters on this board, but what this video shows simply is not justified. There is no immediate threat to anyone, nor is there likely to be soon. This called for some less than lethal means like a taser or bean bag rounds.
Put simpler, he did not need shooting.

Sure it does. Once he went down, the threat diminished significantly and they cranked more rounds into him. I think that's what got him. Given some of the reported circumstances and what appears on the video, I think the shoot could've possibly been justified had it been 2-3 rounds, then stopped once he went down. In fact, he might not have even died. The survival rate for handgun wounds is shockingly high......just not when there are 16 of them.

Not a dig on you, but I thought that article sucked. All the hyperbole and dramatics. He wasted 75% of that on no-info material. Would have been much better with some actual material. All he did was parrot out the current narrative. Lazy writing.
Bonus rant: Then I saw some Lt. Col. in another piece down the page mentioning the four levels of war. Well, he's a dufus as well. There are two levels of warfare: strategic and tactical.

Please stick to what you know (which is likely very little in regards to military strategy or tactics). The debate amongst professionals is there is either 3 - 5 levels of war. Command and Staff is teaching 3 - 4 depending on the instructor.
