Who's going? Is that bridge fire on 85 gonna affect anything? I'm reading that road construction near the stadium might not be done in time for the first real game on 4/14.

Btw, Chipper gave an awesome interview on 680 the Fan the other day. Lots of good stories from His Radness.

Holy shite, come to think of it, that I-85 bridge collapse/fire may make a crazy traffic situation in the Atlanta area due to SunTrust Park even worse for this year. I didn't even think of it until now.

The area that collapsed is near Sandy Springs, and I can't remember where exactly, but I remember reading articles from a while ago that said SunTrust Park traffic might get redirected into Sandy Springs, and when you put on top of it, the I-85 detour traffic due to the collapse/fire, oh man.

If may affect things some, but most motorists using 85 to commute have better options than taking 285 West to 75.

It's nowhere near the new ballpark.

It also blocks 400 from funneling into downtown. lets face it, side streets still are a bitch because of lights, now add in congestion and its will take a long time. the 285 exit from 400 to 75 isnt the greatest.

Most 85 folks will 285 to 20 or take side streets simply because 20 is a haul.

Main way this will exacerbate the Braves is that a lot of people will be tempted to take 75 up to 285 to get back on the open section of 85 or 400.

75 & 285 is where the Braves are now.

Braves/Cobb will blame it on this for sure, and it will have some impact, but it's gonna let those snakes hide behind the collapse for the first year.

Da fuq... The area that collapsed is nowhere near SS. It's near midtown/Cheshire Bridge area... if you know where Grindhouse Burgers on Piedmont is, it's very close to there.

It still may make traffic worse, due to re-routing a lot of traffic onto 285 (which already sucks), but this isn't really "close" to the park.

I'm working it . Shouldn't affect traffic too bad depending on where you're coming from but I take 20 to 285 and usually don't run into traffic until I get actually near he stadium.

It will be traffic though considering the stadium is literally a couple miles from Cumberland mall

The collapse was 85 between 400 and 75. Sandy Springs is up at 400 and 285.

It's probably the worst possible section of highway in the city to be shutdown, and that includes the connector downtown. It will effect Braves traffic because it will effect traffic all over the Inner Metro. It's a nightmare.

Yes, it's nowhere near the stadium, but I saw somewhere that said SunTrust Park traffic is going to get funneled into Sandy Springs side roads to try to alleviate traffic problems.

I can't remember where and my memory can be awful at times, but I saw it.

Yea - that's just general expected SunTrust traffic issues (not including the bridge).

The mayor of Sandy Springs has been pretty public about his issues with the traffic plans considering Sandy Springs is basically used as an outlet per most of the Braves "traffic" literature without their input.

Sold my ticket for $100 days ago. For an exhibition game. Paid for almost 20% of my entire season ticket package.
