I just started "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" again.
The last two books I've read are "Indignation" by Philip Roth and "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness.
Both were awesome. AMC was sad, man. I cried TBH.

Just finished Dune for the second time. I thought it was better on the reread. I need to break down and start the Wheel of Time series of books. I've been told that I'll like it. I'm a big Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings fan.

I like wheel of time but it starts to draaaaaag in the middle. I got tired in book four and haven't picked it back up. It's good stuff but it's like trying binge watch a 7 season tv show that could have been done in 3.5.

Recently finished "The Fold" by Peter Clines. He also wrote the Ex-Heroes series. I'd recommend them all. "The Fold" was a really fun SF bender. He's not going to wow you with some great philosophical revelation, but his books are some of the most pure fun I've had reading in a long time.
Currently reading "The Lost" by Sara Beth Durst. Similar in that it's just good fun and nothing too deep.
Oh and I read a book called "Lexicon" recently that was just awesome. I can't remember the author right now. Max something, maybe? It's a world where words have real, actual power. As a literature nerd it sucked me in.

In the middle of "killing Lincoln" by O'Reilly. Not extremely well written but it's entertaining.

The Chamber by Grisham
Only a few chapters in but seems promising.

Just finished The Martian. I came to the realization that the previews for the movie ruin not only the movie, but the biggest part of the book as well.
Still was a fun read, though.

"American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. About a 100 pages in and it's been good so far. I haven't had much time to read outside of classroom stuff for my college algebra and renaissance to modern art classes though. Hopefully I get to knock some more of it out over the long weekend.

Currently reading The Whites by Richard Price. It's a crime/police novel. I think Price wrote some episodes of The Wire. Not normally my genre of choice, but it sounded good and it was on sale in the Amazon Kindle store for $1.99.
Just started it the other night.

Which one? The first one lived in the house across the street from me before my grandparents were born.

Dune shouldn't be intimidating. It's a great book if you are a SciFi type. The second book is good as well, but the third is tedious. I think that's where his son picked up for the dead author.

I'm definitely not a sci-fi type, but I've heard nothing but great things. Is it worth a read even if that's not really my genre?
I just finished up the Pelican Brief, not bad but I was so distracted throughout the read that I never REALLY got into it.
My buddy recommended a book called Hillbilly Elegy that I just ordered and will start shortly.

British friend of mine told me that reading "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco is one of the greatest reads of all time and that it actually makes your IQ go up by reading it. So in an effort to push my Alabama high school educated arse up to 30 IQ points I started reading.
Well, what he didn't tell me was that half the book is written in Latin and so you have to order that translated portion separately. Constantly having to switch from Latin back to English. It's a nightmare, but it is an amazing read. I'm about half way done.
