Why not get up and walk away? It's not like the guy can shoot you if you aren't threatening him.

The thing I'm most curious about is what was the interaction with the cops like? They completely omitted that part.
But I could totally see the police roll up, shoot the black man and apologize to the white guy before asking any questions.

I read somewhere else that the cops actually thanked the man before arresting the perp.
I'm going out on a limb here and saying they were black.

Sounds like a hate crime if I've ever heard one.

Best response to a criminal ever.

I was thinking the same thing, has to be labeled as a hate crime.

I saw another video of this incident after the cops showed up. White cops were completely professional, shook the black guy's hand, then hauled the bad guy away.

That's good. Need more interactions like that.
PSA: deadly force is never available under the law for protection of property. Either you or another must be under reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury.

sure, but it's hard as hell to argue that you were only a threat to someone's property and not to them personally.

Except in Texas, Florida, and Georgia.

And Kentucky.

We already get a lot of interactions like that. They're just not publicized because they're normal, everyday occurrences and not newsworthy. A cop going rogue and shooting a black guy doesn't happen everyday and elicits emotional reactions, so it's newsworthy.
