It's the best food at a bar I've found and it isn't that expensive but drink selection is enormous here is their website

Fish Market is a great choice on Fri Night

Fyi, Monticello, just checked the Fish Market's menu. Frog legs will be ordered at the table. :-)

Not much on the north side of downtown. Gonna need to travel up the street to the Southside or Hwy 280 for something nice, but pricey - like Bottega.

But, if you are like me, and just like to eat good when you travel - try some local dives. I do that rather than fork out the big bucks and have to get dressed up. Just make sure you go to the Original Pancake House on the Southside in the morning, though you may have to wait a bit.

I hope your team gets crushed . . . but have a good trip.

I'll also be happy to try anyone's food at their tailgate on Saturday. :-)

I agree about jclyde. Kinda hard to find if you don't know much about the city - but worth it.

I had some damn good BBQ over by Avondale a few weeks ago. Hole in the wall place with little seating. Few doors down from Avondale Brewing.

Saw's Soul Kitchen.

Saw's BBQ is the best bbq in the state hands down. I envy them, seeing as I have a bbq place myself.

Why the laughs Patton?

I figured as much as I stay in Hampton Inns, I know exactly what I'm getting. Something I should know?

I have to disagree, Metro Prime steakhouse is complete shite...terrible service, can't cook a steak right, and it's way over priced. I'm not a hater of places and I have been to that place 3 times and it sucked every time. Save your money don't go to this place.

Isn't Cafe DuPont still open on the north side of downtown? That's a really good "fine dining" option.

Try the Crazy Cajun Boiling Pot. This is where I eat at when in Birmingham. I feel at home with all the LSU stuff on the walls.
