And much less expensive, and much less addictive.

Should be covered by Obamacare, imo.

If you test positive while in the Navy you definitely go'n' be gone.

Quite frankly, though, there were a lot of dudes with waivers for other stuff that was worse, so I assume that this is at least somewhat true -- although I didn't meet too many guys with drug bust waivers.

I think I met one -- who got a waiver for a DUI in Minnesota (apparently just being around a car while drunk and not operating can get you busted for that) but he was getting kicked out for pissing hot.

Other than that, I can't think of anyone with a substance abuse/carrying charge that was waived. Can't be that common.

Drug waivers upon enlistment (not sure about commission) are very common. Usually for weed. Not during your TIS though.

I've only done it a handful of times. Never did anything for me. I mean it got me high, but I didn't particularly care for the high. I was more into hallucinogens.

Same with me. I snorted special k, crystal meth, and coke a couple times in college but didn't care for all of that either. The chemical taste, the numbness was all meh compared to acid, mushrooms, and X, which I fricking loved--and of course weed.

He flew F-102s, not f-106s. They are similar in appearance but vastly different in performance, The 106 was a Mach 2 hot rod that served into the late 1980s. The 102 was barely Mach 1 capable.

The 102 was also regularly deployed to Vietnam (a fact his opponents never mentioned) and used in both escort and attack roles with planes being lost to both Migs and anti aircraft weapons.

You are right about W flying the 102. I noticed the different canopy after I posted the picture. While the 102 had performance issues initially, in later models when they area ruled the fuselage, wasnt the performance much better?

I never thought bush was a dumb guy. He made a few, maybe more than a few mistakes, but for whatever reason the media enjoys portraying smart people as dumb and dumb people as smart.

I do not include Sarah Palin in the above statement.

There was a redesign using area rule concepts before production, but there was only one production model and it was barely supersonic.

The redesigned model that incorporated all the new knowledge about supersonic flight is what became the 106.
