Bama's association with UAB medical school is strange. You'll find it officially referred to as either The University of Alabama School of Medicine or the UAB School of Medicine. It seems to alternate.

1/3 of the class is sent to Tuscaloosa.

And you'll find this building on campus, in Tuscaloosa, filled with 3rd and 4th year medical students.

Which is why I have no problem considering the medical school part of UA.

I still really don't know what he was saying

Apparently when I hang out with auburn friends we morph into a "family" and talk down to people?

A group of Auburn fans is scientifically referred to as a "family" and if threatened they may merge their forms and create a terrifying vicious beast resembling this

Alabama gets a bad reputation because of the state it's in. It's like, just because the rest of the state is below-average in education, that we can't one of the better state schools. We are just as good as many of the AAU schools (Iowa State, Oregon, Buffalo, Rutgers, Michigan State, Iowa, Indiana, ect). You can get AAU membership by simply not being in the SEC. I guarantee you if we had grown up in the Big 8, Big Ten, ACC, or Pac 12, we'd be in the AAU

THIS. I was making a pretty tame point in another thread about something that had nothing to do with him or Auburn and dude went off on me like I had kicked his dog or something. It was bizarre.

I thought I described it well. Alabama fans are delusional about Alabama football and take themselves way too seriously when it comes to that subject. Many, NOT ALL, Auburn fans are that way about their school. That was my point.

Alabama as a university has really blossomed over the past 10 years, mostly because of Dr. Witt. The Law School is very good and tough to get in to. With all of the athletic departments recent success it will only continue to grow.

Proud to soon call myself a Bama alum

I've heard the law school doesn't like to accept UA undergrads. Of course, someone who is pissed they didn't get in could have started that rumor.

I thought in-state Honors College kids got into UA Law with a 3.0? No LSAT required. Anyone confirm/deny?

And the med school dean's office is in Nott Hall, officially.

UA is moving up in all the other rankings, too. Our rejection rate is now as high as Florida and we are #1 among public universities in the enrollment of national merit scholars.

My division just hired another recruiter, this week, to go after more of everyone else's students. What's been done since Witt arrived is nothing short of remarkable.

On top of all of that, UA is hiring faculty, granting raises, and expanding the campus - that's pretty much unheard of right now.

I grew up in Mobile and two good friends became lawyers, both graduated from Alabama Law School. I haven't talked to them in awhile, but they lived it up in Tuscaloosa in school and all through their 20's early 30's. Beautiful girlfriends, wild parties, plenty of income. It's not a bad road to take in life. Thanks for posting Op.

Why in the hell would we be asshurt over UA having a good law school? You realize Auburn does not, in fact, have a law school or are you just a moron?
