I'm flying in Friday afternoon and need some tips in what I should be doing (other than bringing lots of lube and an a Auburn shirt to switch to at halftime).

Well they have Sky Bar. It's the only bar worth going to but it's pretty fun and really big. They have drink specials starting at like 6 or something.

Mama G's is their "iconic" Auburn restaurant. It's a decent sandwich. Get the nachos with jalapenos.

Little Italy is good pizza when you're drunk.

That's really all I got.

The Hound has good food/bar and a cool atmosphere.

AU staples would be Mama Goldbergs (deli) and a Toomer's Lemonade.

I've never been, but Acre is a nicer restaurant that's gotten a lot of press in Southern Living, etc.

Theres a super awesome McDonalds next to Anders Bookstore. Also the Wendys next to the highway on your way out of town.

Oh. and there is always Sonic. But thats a regular fight venue so be careful.

have to agree here. when i was in school a little over a decade ago, momma G's was a dump run by stoners where you could get a late night sandwich and a cheap pitcher of lite beer. I liked the food, but it is nothing special.

i would find a small bbq joint and get a pulled pork sandwich. lot's of good choices out there.

No, but I meant it as a joke anyway.

kind of sucks now. Downtown bars can stay open later, so no one goes to SC like they used to

If you are looking for a nice place for dinner on Friday, take a look at Amsterdam. Food is fantastic.
I also suggest walking around downtown and around the university. Toomer's Drugs and Sky Bar are right across from the University.
Other good bars are 1716, Bourbon St., and Bank Vault.

I rather go to Acre or The Hound than Amsterdam. Also, The Hound and Acre will take reservations; Amsterdam is first come, first served. All three have some great items food. The Hound has a more high-end bar...higher end beers on tap, pretty extensive whiskey list

And you get put behind any local that comes in.

Are you in Auburn proper or out towards Opelika? Warehouse Bistro and Irish Bread Pub are good eats in the Opelika area.

Also in Opelika. Really good meals. Cocktails have gotten solid reviews

Acre is probably booked up. Could always sit at the bar though.
