Are you guys trying to save us or prove us wrong?

I'm all for freedom of religion and keeping under God in the pledge of allegiance, but isn't the main thing yall want is for atheists to leave your religion alone. I'm just curious why yall are starting all these threads attacking our beliefs.

In before you say we don't believe in anything.

Who's religion are we talking about? Funny how atheists always assume those who point out the flaws in atheism are christian.

You've got it all wrong. Religion is about having people around you believing the same thing. If there were(edit) only 100 christians in the world, everyone would think they're insane. Same with any religion, I'm not trying to pick on Christianity, its just the soup we're swimming in right now.

In order for it to be true, others around them need to deem it true too.

Per the OP link, Atheism is as much a religion as Islam. There is no evidence to support it, you just take it on faith that 10 quadrillion reactions happened 'just so' and there was no reason for it.

Faith in demonstrable matter is different. We all have faith in paper money being a currency and stuff like that.

Maybe you're new to debates like these but it's well known that atheism is NOT a religion of any kind. I'm not racist but I don't label myself as "non racist" as if there was a choice on a resume. It's how I was born. This is religious debate 101 stuff here. Atheism isn't a religion.

There is evidence supporting atheism.

Read my link that you avoided responding to.

Labeling atheism a religion means you have to join the religion of not acknowledging the existence of...

The tooth fairy
easter bunny
santa
Ra
JUJU of the mountain
Neptune
Fairies and pixies
wood sprites
Krumpus

etc. X 100000

That's a lot of new religions you just joined.

That link contained no evidence. It had a bunch of opinions and straw men. No one said god had to perform 'miracles' that defy the laws of physics to exist. The argument posed int he OP was that the fact that the laws of physics DO exist in the exact way needed to create the universe is evidence of a design. All of that link talks about christian/biblical straw men or specific details about the christian interpretation of a higher power. And the last argument is maybe the most ridiculous of all:

quote:

10. God’s Existence Cannot Be Rescued By Claiming That The Emergence of Life On Earth Demonstrates An Underlying Intelligent Design. The claim that some biological organisms are irreducibly complex fails to account for the redundant gene, a duplication of an existing gene that can experiment with a new function while the old otherwise identical one continues to do its standard work. The claim that the existence of specifiably complex organisms demonstrates the need for an intelligent designer fails because these can be accounted for by the mutations of natural selection.

To sum up, because there are things we as humans don't understand yet, well, that means they are pointless. If all of science had had that attitude, we'd never have gotten past the bronze age.

For someone who follows the christian doctrine, you get really upset and angry.

Neither of these are a good view of the natural world.

For a believer it would be akin to someone approaching you and saying they have an invisible lobster on their head. Would you say "that's ridiculous" (making you the equivalent of an atheist) or "I guess you could have an invisible lobster on your head; I just don't know" (making you the equivalent of an agnostic)?

That's a bullshite and simplistic comparison.

Whether or not you can see a physical lobster on someone's face is something we can measure and understand to the best of our knowledge. I'm not suggesting the Christian version of the creation, I'm saying why completely rule out a god (who at the same time you are putting no attributes, limitations, or a certain demeanor on) to explain how the universe started? Whether you believe in a creation, the Big Bang, or some combination of the two, no one knows for certain what put those events in motion. It's fricking arrogant to rule out some sort of design completely. Just as narrow minded as blindly following any sort of religion IMO.

I've got BHP.

He's like Tbird but flies black helicopters or is a just a black helicopter pilot or both. I've already won.
