To be clear, it's not the disregard for the Constitution. It's the disregard for a post-deconstructionist view of the Constitution which has tenuous connections to the actual text or original intent of the document. But that doesn't have nearly the moral authority you want your point to have.

Well said. I think it would be a fun exercise to imagine what our country would look like if our government followed the actual Constitution.
