Delete this thread. This is not the main campus Arkansas. Misleading.

They poach a lot of kids from KC because they'll throw practically a full ride at anyone with half a brain and a full set of teeth since they can't find that in their own state.
Bama does it too for that matter.

shitty thread aside, it's pretty amazing that it's easier to get into UALR than any other school in the nation.

Most public P5 schools have what I refer to as "dummy campuses." UK used to have a big one (11,000+ students) until the state took it away and made it part of a separate system.
If you graduated from a high school in Kentucky, you were eligible to attend the school. Most states provide opportunities like this for late blooming students. I think it's wise to give underachieving kids a second chance.
One of my friends from high school in Lexington performed horribly and barely graduated. He enrolled in the dummy campus and began to take his studies seriously.
He transferred to the main campus after two years and graduated on time with the rest of us, beating most of us grade-wise.

It is not something to be proud about but it serves as a stepping stone for most students. It servers a purpose.

Posted on 3/5/16 at 9:22 pm to DenverTigerMan
Umm... they have 26K+ enrolled and only 2K apply in a year? Sorry, but I'm calling BS.
