You'll probably die trying.

Peppers are ready for looters and thieves. That's job one.

Ever heard the fable about the grasshopper and the ants? Prepping has been stressed since man evolved from hunter gatherers to farmers and producers of livestock. And raiders have always been around. Europeans had to deal with them in WWII. Raiders and thieves always lose in the long run. It's easier and safer to prep.

Prepping is life insurance for your family and you.

there's a prepper on youtube i like watching. some woman in tennessee (i think). but now she's getting so much attention she's going on hollywood diets and talking about how she'd like to move to the beach LOL

You're not referring to The Patriot Nurse by chance, are you?

She's a South Carolina girl, I've actually met her. She's always talking about moving to the beach. She's very cool in person.

I think she's "MistyPrepper" but she changed her youtube channel or merged with another one recently. Don't know the name right off hand. She's pretty funny though - married to a handicapped guy. You could sense she was getting a LOT of attention from men on youtube and she went on a diet and slimmed down then started posting about not minding living at the beach. Pretty funny stuff. I bet her old man is getting pizzed off at this point.

That's funny. I'll bet you're right about her husband.

BTW, there is a huge preppjng contingent in Tennessee. Some say Tennessee is the prepping capital of the country with Texas a close second.

I have several 5 gallon sealed buckets of rice, beans, and one bucket of quinoa. I have about 3 months of water and I know how to purify water with bleach if need be.

First aid kit is essential.

I recently purchased a Biolite Stove and have tested it multiple times. It works as designed! Incredible little machine. The Biolite stove can provide emergency heat, cooking capabilities (boiling water and grilling), and electricity for cell phones, USB LED lights, battery charger, etc. Plus, the Biolite uses small wood chips or twigs as fuel, so you pretty much have an endless amount of wood at your disposal. It's designed so well that just a few hardwood twigs can maintain a 3,000 - 4,000 degree fire in the stove.

I have a couple of small motorcycles and a go-kart that would survive an EMP from a solar flare (last catastrophic one occurred in the late 1800s) or from a nuclear device detonated 30 - 40 miles above the center of the United States. Most vehicles won't survive an EMP blast simply because they now rely on computers with circuit boards. That shite will be fried. Unless you're an incredible mechanic...you will be screwed as far as transportation is concerned.

We own our home and have a tornado shelter built into the home's foundation.

We live on the edge of a metropolitan area of around 300,000 people in the suburbs. The government recently released an extensive research report on what would happen to US society if an EMP attack occurred over the central United States. Experts more than 80 percent of the country would begin to start within 2 weeks. When a disaster becomes that bleek, people will begin raiding stores and homes for food and supplies, and all morals will go out the fricking window.

Therefore, I have a plan on where to go if a prolonged distaster occurred. We would leave the city with essential supplies within the first week. Our goal is to flee to a particular destination that is approximately 35 miles away from the city and very rural. I believe staying near a large city is a death sentence.

I have fire power and ammunition for protection and hunting capabilities. However, I plan to save my ammunition and use snares and traps to catch small game.

At this time I do not have sufficient fuel and to be honest, I'm not sure how much fuel I need. I suppose that I need enough fuel to make two or three round trips to our alternate destination. Once we have all our supplies at our alternate destination, we would go into long term survivability mode. My plan is to use nature as fuel for heat and cooking instead of reliance upon gasoline.

Regardless, I need to acquire more fuel...

Preppers in Atlanta had nothing to worry about. Survivability for 48 - 72 hours was an afterthought to them.

What? First I am hearing about this.

Seriously? Would you like me to post the articles?

FWIW...I don't think the chaos occurred in your part of town (not a racist remark...just speculation).

My plan is to shoot threats upon 2nd warning. In a longterm distaster scenario, I'll view most everyone as a thread, soooo....

I won't come empty handed: I'll bring my Glock, Mossberg, a Winchester, my wife's .32, a case of water, a leftover 12 pack and a large pepperoni pizza.

No. I would be dead in a week. No generator, firearms, enough gas for a lawn mower, enough food to last a few days, no garden, farm, or livestock. I have first aid as long as I can fix it with a band aide. I don't want to live that far away from a city and I hate the country life. Just about the exact opposite of a prepper.

I wouldn't say I am a prepper per say, but I am prepared to kill anyone trying to take my shite or harm my family in a disaster scenario.

No joke, I drive by Pensmore Mansion nearly everyday. It's fully built now. Roof is on. However, the rock exterior and ornate interior are probably in their beginning stages.

The frick? I lived dead in the center of the city during the ice storm and this did not happen.

There was one store that people went in and took shite from after it was already burgled.

Why would one have to loot? The electricity never went off and plenty of stores and restaurants were open.
