Incredibly weird Texas is not included considering how big hunting is down here.

Texas likely has a law prohibiting the sale of game animals or any parts of them.
MS code below
quote:
Universal Citation: MS Code § 49-7-51 (2013)
(1) (a) It is unlawful for any person to buy or sell or to offer for sale, exchange for merchandise, or other consideration, within this state, any game birds, game animals, or game fish, or parts thereof, named in this chapter, whether taken within or coming from without the state, except as specifically permitted by law or regulation.

I would make the hour and a half drive to Nashville and try one of these if I was going to be home while they had them there.
Looks fricking yummy!!!

I think the loophole is that is farmed venison. I know the grocery store nearest to my house store venison, elk, wild boar, and buffalo that all comes from the same farm.

I think this is correct
MN, MI, and PA are monster deer hunting states. People in the south who are not very well traveled do not realize just how "southern" places like that are.

might be in GA, I know nothing about their laws.
Couple guys in the sip wanted to start pond raising white perch a few years ago for meat and the state shut them down with a quickness, they have allowed a few places to raise and sell hybrid bream and crappie but these are for fingerling sales.
Many have tried to get the state to allow venison sales from penned deer as well- no go.

PETA is not even going to make a squeak about this. JMHO
I think they realize that anything from them at this point would just generate record sales, and at the end of the day it is no different than beef being eaten.

I live across from a place in Dallas that sells game burgers. Currently has venison, elk, ostrich, rabit, camel, beaver, kangaroo and emu.

You can get exotic burgers all over Texas.

Do not want.
In all honesty me either, venison is so lean and a bit tricky for the uninitiated, I just can't see it being anything other than dry, tasteless, and way to chewy.
Hope I'm wrong.
