I appreciate the response man

That's about what I expected. Hopefully it works out for both of us! Did they just happen to assign your high school teacher as your professor or is it just whoever you choose to observe?

It just happened. Dr. Sarah Lacy Trotman taught at Oxford High for years and since she retired she's been working with TMI I think. And I chose to observe my old government teacher at Oxford. It was 60 hours of me sitting in the corner of the class lounging, basically.

Just googled it. That's only 140 miles from my hometown (small ghetto town in the delta) and yeah I don't recommend it

And if you go ahead and knock out the praxis now, it'll all be smooth sailing. At the first meeting in February, I was one of like five people that had taken both the praxis 1 and 2.

TMI. That's what I did.

I got out because I got a job offer in another field that pays more. It was time for a change. I didn't hate it, but it got to a point where I really wasn't motivated anymore. This new job has a lot more earning potential in a field I'll enjoy.

If you know your subject, it's pretty freaking easy. I passed the English one with a meritorious pass (I do have a Masters in English Literature, though).

I was trying to make myself more appealing to employers at the time, so I also took and passed the Oral Communications and Drama one. Oral Comm. was easy, but the Drama one was pretty hard (with lighting diagrams and crap in it). I passed it as well, and I've never been in any kind of play or taken any kind of drama class.

I didn't study for any off them. All of that being said, I'm a really good test taker (which doesn't really amount to much of anything in the real world).

Took the PLT 7-12. Multiple choice, 45 of them IIRC and 3 or 4 case studies with 3 or 4 open responses. 2 hours.
Glad I passed that one.

Theres a small school in south Arkansas you can earn your bachelors and after that earn Masters in coaching. The Masters degree is only 1 year online.

Yeah. The PLT is a pain. Back when I took it, you had to do it on paper, so writing that much by hand was miserable. I'm assuming it's on computer now, which would make it much easier to do. Still, time was always a factor for people with the PLT.

You definitely need some backing in pedagogical theory and such to pass it, which is why most take it at the very end of their educational process.

Maybe a little different terrain (flat) than you're used to, but nice little town and good people down there. Not far from where I grew up, been there a bunch.
