I have issues with my foot so running is not the best. Elliptical doesnt tire me out nor does non-spin cycling. So I think i should take up swimming for cardio. Any specific tactics/styles to increase cardio through swimming?

Start really slow. Like maybe do 10-15 laps stopping and resting in between each lap and work your way up.

I lost 22 lbs my junior year of college waking up early and doing 20 laps every morning. Honestly it's the best I've ever felt. Cardio was good and I never had to deal with joint soreness or shin splints or anything. I wish I had a pool like that around here to do it again.

I do cardio during my workout in between sets but then I go swim after. I like to push a lap down and back going free style as hard as i can. Then slowly work at adding more distance each time when going down and back. When I need a break i flip to my back and just kick.

No, but I started cycling 2 years ago, because my knees kept bothering me. It's the best cardio I've ever done, however I've heard swimming is great as well.

I used to swim for cardio in college and loved it, was so weird at first. Much different than getting winded from running

Got totally spoiled in college by having an Olympic pool to swim at, now I'd love to swim for Cardio but no pool anywhere near big enough around

I've done spin which is good. I live in a city so biking outside really isn't the safest option. And when I do regular stationary bike, my dick feels like it's going to fall off.

You must be very rural. There are swim clubs all over.

the best cardio available cause it's using entire body. Great for joints.

I'm 50 and getting knee scoped for meniscus tear this week. I think it's time to start considering swimming myself.

Not extremely rule but 25 minutes or so from an area with your normal chains and things like that so about the same distance from the type of pools I would need
