Recommend you go Army. We are cool as shite and everybody loves the job they do.

Seriously though, nice thing about SEALs is that you can basically sign up to go through the selection process up front. In the Army you generally have to go do something else for a while before you get the opportunity to try out for SF or Delta, although I believe even they have begun opening the door to fresh recruits these days. Not an expert but had a lot friends in those communities in my Bragg days. Even had the pleasure of working with them on many raids.

Just remember to prpeare yourself mentally and physically. Don't quit on yourself and oftentimes instructors won't quit on you. And remember, everyone on the military, no matter the job, is important and should always be treated with respect by their fellow service members.

Best post so far. Thank you!

Do you know anyone who's done jump school? That is one thing that legitimately scares me.

Also I have heard that SEALs get great benefits. I've had the honor to meet a few members of SEALs team six, you would never know they do what they do.

I recommend you look into the Air Force, Administrative Specialist or something similar.

My advice would be for you to wait and see who the next POTUS is.

Good luck with what ever you decide.

As of right now:
How long would it take you to swim 400m breast stroke or side stroke?
How much time would it take you to run 1.5 miles in boots & utes?
How many pushups in 2 min?
Situps in 2 min?
After that, could you do 8 pullups?

First off, do you have a natural tendency to help others in need? Would you take the initiative to help someone if it put your own life in grave danger? If you don't like that idea, find another career to pursue.

What about your mental endurance for extreme physical stress? How about learning to function in 52 degree sea water after a quick cat nap, when you're body has gotten comfortable and warm. You're so exhausted you can't think straight. Now you're fighting hypothermia, extreme hunger, and dehydration..while the intructor plays mental games with you. Warm bed...hot meal..chicken lo mein, maybe a tasty filet mignon,...how do you like it cooked..blah blah. "What youre doing is nuts man" It'd make your mother cry to see you right now", and so on.

Then there is the water training. What do you think about basically free diving to the bottom of a pool, or sea floor having to concentrate on a task. People have drowned doing these things. Can you control your fear?

If you like those things, find a good, knowledgeable trainer that can help get you prepared. Give it a shot.

There's a portion of BUD/S where you're clothed, and your feet are velcroed together and your hands are also velcroed behind your back.

You have to bob up and down in 10' of water for up to 45 minutes. That along is bad, but the velcro isn't so tight thst you can't pull loose. You must use self control to NOT free yourself while bobbing up and down.

This may be during the divers course right after BUDS, but reading it stuck with me. I'm glad we don't frick with water too much in the Army.

The guy I am talking about was at Pensacola, was being helped to get ready for buds by a older sailor. When he left for Coronado he came by my house and picked up my daughter to go with him. They lived on Longbeach within sight of Mexico. They have been married for 17 years. He went through buds and rolled one time because of shin splints. And he told me the worst part is the cold.

What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the frick out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fricking words. You think you can get away with saying that shite to me over the Internet? Think again, fricker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fricking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable arse off the face of the continent, you little shite. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shite fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fricking dead, kiddo.

Bet Silver's sleeping with that baseball bat he loves to beat the hell outta everything with. While jacking off to some weird arse foot pron.

I made a living doing what other people thought I couldn't. As far as training, "When the will is strong everything is easy."

Go for it and quit listening to the frat stars.

So I guess you can't answer those simple PT metrics?

Stick to those slogans regarding training. That'll go far. Maybe you can incorporate a vision board too.
