Had the pleasure of traveling to Chile shortly after Bourdain and, based on the recommendation of a local, just happened to eat at a restaurant Bourdain had featured. Basically a restaurant on the side of the road on the coast in Concon. Never would have even noticed it except Bourdain had made it a stop on his show.

Had the same thing he did - homemade empanada with Chilean razor clams. Again, never would have tried it if he hadn't featured it.

Holy crap was it good. I mean, really really good. Bourdain knows his food, imvho.

His shows are 75% culturally informative and 25% food. He's one of my favorite people on TV.

Great show and guess what he had Paula Dean & sons pegged to the board long before She was exposed.
