Can't sleep so I did it now. Just a brief down and dirty with some obvious things:

Top does what he wants:

All soldiers look like posers with the amount of crap they wear on their uniforms.

Well except for that Airborne patch you got going on there, I'd never guess. j/k

All that work and you forget the funniest one: Too fricking fat.

Although when I pulled OPFOR down at Stewart I saw some Guardsmen who looked like they were pregnant.

I pulled 9 years in the Army with a 15 month tour in Iraq...and only have 10 ribbons/medals. What some of these guys are wearing is damn crazy

eta: That brings up a question for my fellow vets. Have any of you built or purchased a shadowbox for your awards?

I haven't. I didn't do anything worthy of a box really. Seven years in the Air Force (3 as Security Forces and 4 as Supply).

Pretty much the exact same thing except with the Navy. We're not a proud group. :(

damn, does that mean everyone that went through Basic can make a VA claim now?

Pretty much. I'm having to take all these pre-separation briefings and shite, and the one I went to the other day bothered me.

Basically, this twat stood up there and said "do I look 70% disabled?". She then went on to tell how to basically game the VA into getting paid for bullshite like sprained ankles and things like that that happened off duty. What made it worse was the people in the briefing who were all asking questions about PTSD and shite like that. Keep in mind that many of these had never been deployed...not even as fobbits or the like.

Obviously, I approached her after to tell her how disgusting it was and how people who make fake claims are the cause for a 4 yr VA backlog and fricking over people who need the help. She was fine with her position. Those who are gaming the system are giving a much worse name to vets than posers who wear 44 ribbons on their chest.

Edit: Oh, and she drew retirement from her 21 years and whatever her GS wage is along with her 70% disability.

I got out of the military with a bum shoulder. I have still never went to the VA to check on it. My shoulder works it's just not is good as it once was. I'm ok with that because I don't want to depend on my gov't when I am perfectly capable of working. Lazy people and parasites kill me.

I've known so many like you who have done the same. They stand on their own two feet and make their way through life. Unfortunately, it seems many are taking the easy way out because "the money is there, why not take it?". That line of thinking is ridiculous.

My back hurts me everyday from injuring it on my last deployment. I personally don't want any handouts the VA or whomever is giving.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my line of thinking, that shite had me really pissed off all of last week. It's sad I get mad over such small shite, maybe I should claim PTSD.

You should.. You're the victim here

A guy I deployed with was on Facebook bitching about the VA not ackknowledging his pattern drinking, I commented, "wern't you a drunk before the Mobilization?"

You would've thought I killed the family dog.

I have never been more embarrassed and ashamed, then when I was ETS-ing out of Drum. Vast majority of the people leaving were trying to rack up dissability claims like it was a game. I met an E-7 that said there was no excuse to not try and get some sort of dissability.
I think this is worst than the possers. They are (in the case with AZ) litteraly killing other vets by clogging up the system with bs.
