Just sent the certified check today saved $20 from using the CC so shipping is down to $15 and then $15 for my FFL to transfer it over.

I'm really excited about this one, I briefly had a Chinese AK-47 with the flip up bayonet back in the 1980's when I was in service but lost it in a poker game.

Uhhh... Yea...

Im hoping this is a troll, if not you're very uninformed.

I have an original 551 from Switzerland, and 2 556s of different calibers, neither has ever had a jam after many, many rounds fired.

These guns are pretty much considered lengendary for their reliabilty and accuracy.

I like my piston ar. Clean reciever like an ak, ar ergonomics and customizing options. If i want a little more stopping power all i have to do is buy a .300 blackout barrel and bolt, gets me similar ballistics to 7.62 in the ar platform. And my whole piston ar setup only cost me about $600, cause i pieced it together from 'blem' parts specials.

I've also seen a well known YouTube channel not be able to get through the review because his 556 jammed the entire time. I guess you got lucky with your guns

Get the AK, but please note it is NOT a good weapon for home defense. The round is large enough to puncture walls and injure or kill unintended targets.

You want the shortest barrel possible for home defense. When you have a long gun, it's useless once the intruder gets past the end of the barrel. At that point, you can only use the gun as a bludgeon. Go for handguns or short barreled shotguns for home defense.

short barrel shotguns are heavily regulated. Depending on where you live it could be illegal to have or you have to pay a $200 tax stamp and pass additional background check. The shortest generally legal shotgun barrel length is 18".

I have nothing against the AR platform, hell I toted an M-16A1 for three years back in the day. I have had the pleasure of shooting an ATF 9mm version once and it was sweet, in close quarters you can hold a close pattern on full auto select.

Like I said I saw this one at a fair price and jumped on it and its a shooter not a dust collector and I have a few of those also.

Seriously you can get 1080 rounds of ammo for $250 bucks! Balls and bottles floating down the river beware!

Nobody needs a gun like that. You don't use it for hunting or self defense. It's sole purpose is to kill as many as possible....it's disgusting that we allow military style weapons to the general public.

Nobody needs people like polluting the gene pool, yet here you are.

OP's rifle is an AK-74 (5.45×39), not the AK-47 (7.62x39). The difference is a 50-53 grain projectile at over 3,000 fps vs 123 grains at 2,400. Using hollow points, I'd be perfectly comfortable with 5.45x39 in a house due to the velocity-induced fragmentation of the light rounds. Barrel length in the close quarters would be my only concern, which is why my HD gun is a Tavor with an EoTech despite my affection for Kalashnikovs.

Get it ... get it and lots of ammo and plenty of spare mags. Remember the rule, you can never have enough ammo and you need at least seven mags per rifle.

That's a nice looking AK by the way. An Arsenal by chance?

All of mine are Arsenals. They are the finest AKs made IMHO.

I've got two SIG 716s ... my two go-to SHTF rifles. Love'em. They run like sewing machines and are flawless being put through their paces.

I put an EOTech on my everyday rifle and then bought a back-up because two is one and one is none of course.
