I'm thinking I will try to go later this year. I have only been outside the country, on many trips to Cayman. Culture wise, guess you could say San Juan was outside the country.
I will have 6 friends across the country. Think 3 are near Bocolod City.
Eta: what is travel like across the country?

Only advice I can provide you is fly business class if you can, long flight to get over there and back. Guess another piece of advice is if you are going, make sure you stay enough days to justify the long plane flight and cost

My wife is Filipino. Just drink bottled water. Keep your wallet REALLY secure. The shopping is great in Manila. It's like 47 pesos to the dollar right now.

I've never been and would like to go in the next few years.

I am sure it will be fun. I did Bali a few years ago...fricking blast. So many hookers in that region.

Maybe he can circumcise some Philippine boys while down there. Because... God and stuff?

I will look at price difference between economy and business class. Was planning for a two week trip. One girl said that's enough, another was kind of iffy on that.
My Mom already told me not to get married

If only staying in the Philippines then I think you are good with two weeks. Just know the travel lag with eat a couple of your first days. You will be able to do things but will have to fight through it. Enjoy the trip if you get to go. I don't think there is anything more enjoyable than seeing other parts of the world in person.

Had a feeling this would be the case.
And Filipina girls, are some of the sweetest people I have met. I would take one to the courthouse tomorrow in Gretna if I could.

Yea, I'm going to get about 5k in inheritance. Instead of being smart, I want to do a once in a lifetime trip. Will likely be able to invest some of it anyways.
I have hardly been outside the South, this would be amazing.

My father-in-law passed away in 2010 in the Philippines...we literally got the call that he had passed in the last two minutes of the Bama-Texas NCG. My wife went over there for five weeks that fall and had a blast even though it was a sad time for her. The traffic is crazy, people are everywhere. I envy you being able to go.
