This brings up an interesting question: What happens when we inevitably develop the technology that allows for very young fetuses to continue growing outside the womb? If a fetus can be "grown" outside the other from 10 weeks on for example, does that eliminate all second trimester abortions?

What is special about this point? Brain function?

They can't survive outside of the host body even with intensive medical attention until that point.

Pulmonary function. Prior to around 30 weeks, the infant hasn't produced enough lung surfactant to keep their airways from collapsing on expiration .

Using steroids and intensive care, babies have around a 20-40% chance of survival before 25 weeks.

Host body...that's pretty cold. They're people not parasites.

It is interesting, but I think we're a long way from that type of technology. A fetus is only about an inch long at that point. That's a big difference from an almost foot long 24 week old fetus.

At that point, that's exactly what they are. It's cold but it's true.

I think we will eventually reach the point where babies can be "grown" entirely outside the womb from the point of conception Matrix style. That's when shite will get really weird.

It's interesting to me that the evolution of society and technology regularly requires us to revaluate and change our ideas of morality.

Well, the counterargument to that is if satan hadn't deceived Eve, there'd be no death in the first place.

God made Satan though and doesn't Satan punish evil people in hell? Seems like a pretty tragic hero to me.

If god loves Jews (chosen people and what not) wouldn't heaven be full of Jews?...and if Hitler hated Jews wouldn't heaven be his own version of hell since it's full of Jews?

He's like cosmic Dexter: they all had it coming

Back to the subject at hand: I'm staunchly pro-*life.

*intelligent life, that is. Abortion should be legal until the age of 12. THAT'S planned parenthood, IMO.
