I understand why dog fighting is very much frowned upon. You have to train the dog to fight. But, who on here is going to cry over a fighting rooster? I mean USC's mascot is a damn fighting Gamecock. It's purpose in life is to fight. That's how it gets it's pleasure. Gamecocks are not pets. If it's noble to kill a bull in Spain why not allow two fighting Cocks do what they do in America?

There are actually matches here where they don't kill each other and it's more of a wrestling match. The talons are removed and they literally just wait until which one can sit on the other until it can't move.

Oh, no doubt. In some parts of Spain they have bullfighters that jump the bulls and flip over the bulls ect but not kill them. That would probably pull a protest in the USA as well.
Now, Cockfighting is one of the few things that unites the most redneck country folks you can imagine and Hispanics. If you've ever been to a cockfight, you know what I'm talking about.
I swear some Americans would probably protest a rattlesnake fight.

I've seen a few cock fights in my time ... they are brutal and bloody. But the worst ones are the ones that take place in the brooding yards ... sometimes between brothers. They are vicious. It's all they know how to do and it's how they have evolved to propagate only their strongest. Usually the winner takes out his opponent's eyes first, then he tortures him for awhile eventually leaving him to die a slow death, eaten alive by other birds at times.

Thanks I probably should have mentioned that. You're partially correct; some of the meat is sold to bar/restaurants. If you go into a restaurant and see a pic of a bull in a picture frame, that's what you're having for dinner.
