You are very right about that.

But we undoubtedly have a problem with mass shootings that needs to be addressed. The fact that the killers used guns is an issue.

Whether it is mental health evaluation, or whatever it may be....we need to take action to prevent another Sandy Hook or Virginia Tech.

Guns may not be the problem. Mental illness by itself may not be THE problem. But when the two combine, we very certainly have an issue that needs to be addressed.

Good luck getting quality educators at that point.

Because the schools are full of quality educators now?

I can flip your argument and say that perhaps quality educators will come when they feel like they can defend themselves.

How often do we have these?

Would you ban or legally alter this firearm?

This is the trusty old model 60 Marlin that kids get for their first firearm every year.

Using the word "clip" in reference to various handguns is correct. if I were referring to a shotgun, I would have used shells

Uhhh.. You haven't a clue what you're talking about. Do you fear ghost guns as well?

Pistols and most rifles take magazines. Some rifles take clips. Some shotguns also take magazines.

You should educate yourself before trying to talk in depth.

What people like the OP think they sound like when discussing the 2nd Amendment and crime..

What they sound like in reality...

And they're not. But providing them guns isn't a solution by a long shot.

Quality educators will show up when they don't have to fight a system that only holds teachers accountable. They don't need a gun for defense. If schools were allowed to actually address behavior issues with more than a slap on the wrist and address the mental health of students before they take out their classmates they'd be much better off.

We really don't. It's a rare occurrence and happens less frequently today than it used to.

No it isn't.

The majority of kids who shot up schools didn't purchase the weapons themselves. They stole them from their parents or someone else who legally owned them. I think the Aurora theatre shooting is the only one where the guy actually bought the guns. The Sandy Hook shooter took the guns from his mom for example...what can you do about that?

The issue with your argument is you can implement all these restrictions to make it harder to buy guns, and when someone wants to commit a mass shooting they will go and steal the guns or buy them illegally. So no problems were solved yet people's rights were infringed. Then when the shootings continue, you'll be right back on here arguing how we need to do more until eventually all rights are taken away completely.
