Its like people are actually discovering there's an outdoors with this game. They act like its some revelation that you're happier when you actually get out and do stuff.

Ingress was essentially the same game, but free.
Apparently Niantic created both of them.
I think the Ingress users (I admit it, I played for almost a year) created the map for Pokémon.

I was not aware of this new fad until a news story ran here last night about a restaurant that banned players because they were just walking into the kitchen, standing at customers tables, etc.
If any of y'all are one of those people, please go drink a glass of common sense and be respectful. While I have no interest in ever playing the concept behind this is certainly fascinating.

A few bars and restaurants around me have the "pokestops" and put out lurers to draw players in. Saw some young black dudes and a cop standing side by side playing the game at a stop yesterday. In Baton Rouge.

The thing about Ingress was that mostly adults played it, because you have to travel quite a bit. Most adults were courteous enough not to walk into a business or someone's residence to capture a portal.

Its mostly 20somethings playing. Im just young enough to have played the shite out of the original games. Oddly enough my wife, whos too old for that stuff, is loving the experience too.

keep seeing ingress players on twitter bragging about playing ingress before pokemon go came out. like it makes them superior to the new pokemon go players or something.
