Yea, Atlanta is much bigger than Athens. Athens has the highest number of bars per capita. It's a college town, what else do you expect of it?

Clemson has done a lot of things that is not reflected in the rankings, like implanted a writing across the curriculum approach, build new academic buildings, etc.

Or even

rates all programs other than Clemson below average

Why is it that every once in a while a Clemson fan wIll find his way over here and just be an insufferable douche?

If you think Atlanta is a better place to live then Athens then good on you. That's a great opinion that few share, but it's yours to have. There is one Clemson dude who post here who seems cool. I don't know what's wrong with the rest of y'all.

ATL has a lot more colleges. Thus it is more of a college town than Athens with 1 college.

Per capita numbers don't mean anything. ATL has more bars in number.

I don't have a dog in this fight, I am just skeptical all young people think Athens is pfereable to downtown ATL. lol

I would go to Ga Southern if I was young buck living in GA, now that it offers engineering.

I'm telling you dude. I'm not sure if it's because they're isolated in the upstate or what but they think their football program is as good as Alabama and their academics are as good as Yale.

lol, that former school president was a douchebag but he didn't rank all the others below average. I believe he ranked Clemson above other schools like UNC (which I agree with for UNC) but he didn't rank them as below average.

You are getting sucked in by our state rival's talking points, and they are same people who introduced the Clemsoning meme which ESPN was happy to trumpet for awhile until Dabo put it to bed.

How can you argue a city with more colleges isn't a college town? Obviously you have a different definition of college tow than many people do.

This what I get for predicting Texas AM wins the SEC west next year, due to their relatively easier schedule than other west teams?

FSU was stacked and would have beat SC even worse. Shaw never beat good defenses.

The FSU game was a turnover fest , much like FSU had ton of turnovers in the title game and lost bad, despite similar yardage stats as Oregon. It happens to every program at some point.

Fumble luck decides a lot more games than people want to acknowledge.

Ok. so only a town with nothing else other than a college can be a college town.

I know that I have heard of COlumbia being a college town. Granted, it doesn't have as much as ATL. lol

But if you turn on the radio in Cola is basically Gamecock athletics talk on every channel

Clemson has students from all over the state. It's hardly isolated being near Greenville and b/t ATL and Charlotte. It isn't anymore isolated than Athens or UVA. It is less isolated than Virginia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Miss State, Ole Miss etc

I never said Clemson is as good as Alabama, yet. I think that we've had better passing stats and WRs than Alabama though, and Boyd was better than that McCarron guy who won 2 titles. He played behind a huge O line, Boyd didn't.

So you never hear about GT athletics on the radio in ATL? I am sure it is all over the radio dial there. My brother just moved to Woodstock so I will soon know.

I'm a Statesboro guy. I'd probably prefer Mercer too. If my parents had stayed in GA. I was born in Waycross so I have thought about this a lot.

Ummmm.... ATL is UGA country.

I'd even go as far as saying there is more Auburn coverage in Atlanta than GT.
