The O Line is what concerns me the most about the Vols. They are going to play some teams that have had very good front sevens for the last few years.

The Vols have some real talent so they might win some of those games, but I just don't like their odds to overcome poor line play in enough SEC games to win the East.

Barring, of course, that their O Line doesn't turn it around next season. Arkansas was woefully average at best on defense going into last season but once we turned things around they became the bedrock of our squad. If the Vols manage a turn around like that then they would be very dangerous to any team out there.

Oline is the biggest concern next year, we're only as strong as our weakest link.

In 2015, why will mizzou win the east over the vols?

The better question is, will Georgia finally play to the level of their talent and not Richt away a game or two. If so, will they finally win the East and maybe the SEC?

Georgia should be the favorite and I believe the Vols will be improved and in the mix. If Mizzou and Georgia lose games they should win, the Vols could absolutely be good enough to win the East. The talent is back. Will Jones do something with it?

Lots of subplots in the East to look forward to besides the above:

Does the OBC have it in him to bring the Cocks back?

Will McElwain make his coaching presence felt at Florida enough to challenge?

Can Stoops finally get his program to the next level and challenge the leaders?

Can Mason make enough progress at Vandy to get his team back to a bowl.

Exciting times.

I'm sold on Jones as a recruiter, but I have my doubts about him as a coach.

Butch and Pinkel are kind of polar opposites.

The biggest complaint, at least with the star gazers, is recruiting could be better.

The difference is the Coach Up Factor. Pinkel always seems to get the most out of what he's got.

I really don't see anyone outside of Mizzou, UT and UGA winning the division.

I also don't see UGA being the favorite. They'll have a great ground game and a very good D but they are breaking in a new QB and Their new OC is very conservative. I see them being very one dimensional on offense.

To be fair, he's not had a lot of time to "coach up" his players, having to play 23 true freshmen in the 2 deep last season.

My problem is that Florida loss, I don't know if I'll ever get over that.

Georgia hosts Mizzou, Tenn. hosts Georgia, Mizzou hosts Tenn.

If you assume that Tennessee is going to be good then you would think that the home team in each of those games gets the advantage and hypothetically they all go 1-1.

Tenn. gets to play Alabama and Arkansas
Georgia gets to play Alabama and Auburn
Mizzou gets to play Arkansas and Miss. St.

Tenn. and Georgia both get to play Alabama and therefore should both get 1 loss against the west. Arkansas, Miss. St. and Auburn should all be more of tossup type games.

Just playing the odds, no matter what the perceived belief is about who is better, Mizzou has an better chance of winning the East due to not playing Alabama.

also

Pinkel is 3-0 vs Butch (2 at Tenn, 1 at NC).
Mizzou is 3-0 vs Tenn.
Mizzou is 2-0 vs Dobbs and made him look bad both times.
Mizzou gets Tenn. at home.

As I say to EVERYONE, mizzou lead the P5 in dropped passes. Mauk is very talented, VERY. His problem is he needs to stay in the pocket (some what an easy fix). Now that he has better WR's I would love to know as why he wont be much improved?

I actually have a feeling that it may come down to UT or MU. I'm not sure what UGA has that scares ya besides Chubb. New OC. New QB. Lose their top 2 WR's. Lose their #1 TE, who was 3rd for them in receiving yards, making it the top 3 in reception yards gone. They lose at least 2 of their starters on the OL. They lose 5 starters on defense. Sure they'll be good. Sure they'll compete. But I don't see them in the mix at the end of the day.

If you reverse the question, the only reason Tenn would be better than Mizzou is because a bunch of jock sniffers that rank high school kids gave more stars to their recruits.

I've seen nothing on the college level to support this though.

UT is young and talented and can't be taken lightly.

It is going to be hard to say what Mizzou will be this year.

The only postition I am comfortable in saying we are strong at right now is DT. Maybe LB

We have a lot of question marks. It will be interesting to see how Pinkel pulls this one off.

The receiver's aren't better. That is our biggest question mark. lol We lost our top 3 receivers. While our WR could surprise some people, they are 100% untested and unproven. However, I do think the team as a whole will be better than last season. People will be surprised by Augusta and Brantley. Only time will tell.

QB - Better with a years experience.
RB - Same or better again with Hansbrough returning again.
TE - Better with all the same guys back more experienced.
OL - Only lost 1 so with all other returning, we'll be better.
WR - The only question mark I see on offense.

DE - Question marks galore.
DT - Agreed. Strong.
LB - Better with everyone returning.
DB - Lose 1 but with others returning better.

I see us being the same or better at all spots with the exception of WR and DE.

As for handing us our arse, you won by 8 points, come on man. You beat us, but don't act like you just dominated the whole game, because that's just bullshite.

This is how I know you didn't really pay attention.

With 6 minutes left, Mizzou was up by 16!!! despite missing 2 PATs! Garbage time TD and 2 pt conversion suddenly makes it not an arse whooping?

Take your beating like a man and own it. You'll beat us and it might be this year but no need to revise history.

I was hammered drunk at the Tennessee game last year, but I definitely don't remember an arse whoopin'. That game was really close. I was nervous Tennessee was going to recover the onside kick.

My recollection of the UT game was that I never felt threatened but I never felt it was an arse whopping. I don't remember whooping anybody's arse last year. We didn't have the offense to do that sort of thing.

Dumbass comments like these are why the rant doesn't give Mizzou the respect it deserves.
