Well I came here because I was tired of tigerboard. So there's plenty of us tired of it.

That's seriously why they won't update the format? Wow.
I can't speak for Dave's deepest motivations, but I do know he finds the constant frustrations and "ARRGH this board looks like I'm playing Oregon Trail!" reactions to Tigerboard's format to be highly amusing. And still, the posters and web page hits keep right on coming. Greatest troll job ever?

Maybe so, ATX, maybe so.
Though Kilgore was brilliant, that was a short con. TigerBoard's con is years in the making. Years!

Because the majority of people are idiots.

The TigerBoard subscribers (those who give $) appear to prefer that format from what I have seen in limited reading over there.
I can see the benefit of it. It is easier to follow specific conversations in a thread in that format and you don't have to read or scroll over posts from people you know you don't want to read. You can immediately click to a specific part of a thread and follow just that section.
The problems with the rant format are obviously the opposite. You get large threads with interesting conversations that are hard to follow because they might span 10 pages with 200 posts littering in between. You are stuck going through it all no matter what. Highly frustrating.
